Bryan had a meeting in Arizona in late March, so the boys and I tagged along and escaped the last blast of icy winter in Des Moines.
While in Arizona, we got to see one of the last Cubs spring training games against the Colorado Rockies. As a strange coincident, while at the Cubs/Rockies game, I received a call from Jack's T-ball coach letting me know he'd be on the Rockies this spring, so even though the Cubs lost, Jack was happy "his team" won.
We sat on the lawn, which allowed both boys to stand right at the outfield fence to catch the action.
Daddy was in meetings so Jack, Griffin and I took advantage of nearly 100-degree temperatures and swam in our hotel's five pools. Considering it was snowing in Des Moines while we were gone, the sun felt great!
Sponge Bob Square Pants and Dora the Explorer were also staying at our same hotel!
We beat the heat one morning with a round of mini-golf and at the same park was a large golf-ball shaped dome with bungees and trampolines inside. Well, the boys couldn't wait. They were hitched up and allowed to jump almost 20 feet high (with some help) for a few minutes. Griffin was brave in theory, but didn't like to be hooked up to all those cables.
Jack had a blast.
Afterward, the two discussed their experiences.

A Day at Greenwood Park
There's a great pond by our house (where the Roosevelt hockey team practices) and Jack and Bryan enjoyed many Saturdays on the ice. We finally convinced Griffin to put on some skates, and while he didn't have the immediate love for the ice that Jack did, he held his own.
A Successful Hockey Season
Jack Is 5!
A Night Out
Griffin turns 2!
Griffin celebrated his 2nd birthday in February, with a Snoopy brunch. Yes, even two-year-olds like brunch. He's into Lightening McQueen right now and was proud to find Jack's old Snoopy hockey shirt.
Griffin was surprised to blow out the candles on his Snoopy cake and also to unwrap a big, fluffy Snoopy of his own.
Sally and Papa gave Griffin his very own grocery cart, complete with washed garbage! No kidding -- Sally saved "real" food for Griffin's cart and washed it out. No plastic knock-offs for her grandson! Actually, it was quite cute, and I just saw him trying to shake out a waffle from the Eggo box this morning. Sorry, buddy, those were just pretend.

A Swim in the Tub
They're tubbers! It's no secret the Boesen boys enjoy their tub time. Recently, the boys enjoyed a swim in the new big tub...and were quickly removed once they began a water fight. Oh well, guess they'll have to "earn" time in the big tub.
