Christmas in March

OK, this is a little late, but still worth watching. Uncle Rick claimed the title of "Best Christmas Gift" in 2008 when Jack opened a hockey net and two sticks. He demanded it be put together immediately and then gave us all a show. Pay attention to his graceful skating as he glides on the "ice" after scoring a goal. Since it's snowing out today (yup, snow in late March), we might as well celebrate a little Christmas.

Video credit goes to Aunt Jenny, whose giggle can be heard along with Great-Grandma V saying "is that what they do?" We need to get the Otises access to the NHL channel.

Happy Birthday/St. Patrick's Day from Griffin

"Really, Jack? Couldn't you have chosen a more sophistocated location for your birthday?" Griffin was clearly not amused by the sound of 100 kids running and screaming at the playground during Jack's birthday. We appreciate that he did make the effort to show up, though. That's love.

Jack Turns 3!

We continued Boesen Birthdaypalooza with Jack's 3rd birthday. On St. Patrick's Day we celebrated with friends at an indoor playground, filled with inflatables and wee spring breakers dressed in green. After disinfecting, Jack was surprised with a new set of wheels (courtesy of Papa and Sally) and presents from the fam. We finished off the night with a hockey cake, and Jack cried when we cut into it. He wanted to play with it -- just what I need, a petrified hockey cake.

Boesen Birthdaypalooza Begins

March is a busy and expensive month for our family with Bryan, Jack and Betsy's birthdays all within about 10 days of each other. Bryan kicked off birthdapalooza with the traditional chocolate cake from El Patio (local Mexican restaurant -- that buttercream frosting is deadly!) and Jack and Griffin helped blow out the candles.

"Tiger, Tiger Woods, Ya'll"

Who needs Tiger Woods when we've got our own golf protoge. Jack recently discovered how much fun teeing off is, and Bryan subsequently discovered that his son might be a better golfer than he is.

One Month Old

"Mommy, it's time I stop wearing those silly jammies with monkeys and duckies and frogs on them. I'm old enough to pop my collar, now."

Bath time!

The obligatory bath tub shot. Griffin loves his bath and needs them frequently!

Meet the Boesens

Griffin got to meet a few other members of his extended family -- aunt Katelyn and Great Grandma Patsy, both pictured here. I'll let you figure out who's who! Aunt Meredith and cousin Sofia were also in town to visit, but I unfortunately didn't get any photos of them (sorry guys!).

He's getting warmer...

Jack, armed with a sucker, feels brave enough to sit close to baby Griffin one evening on the flowered couch, which is normally Jack's turf. This was the beginning of what we only hope will be a beautiful friendship.
