A Gentleman's Easter

Looking spiffy in his Best & Co. tie (Thanks, Aunt Sandy!) Jack sported a layered look to ward off the Easter snow (not kidding, it really snowed). After all the hunting, Jack took a much-deserved break for milk and tried on Grandpa Tom's glasses.

The Easter Hunt

Jack had a great time hunting for the eggs the Easter Mouse (not sure why the bunny is a diffcult concept for him) hid. Once he got dressed up for Easter church, he got to hunt for more eggs at Grandma Patty's and Grandpa Tom.

Here Comes the Easter Bunny

In true "big boy" fashion, Jack went to visit the Easter bunny -- and liked it! He also had a blast on the choo-choo around "bunny town." On a side note, when did I start using words like "choo-choo" in my daily vocabulary?

Jack Turns Two

On St. Patrick's Day, Jack turned 2. We celebrated several times and with several different treats, so sorry in advance for all the funny messy eating pictures. Jack had a great time at all three parties (family, day care and little buddies) and really mastered the art of opening gifts. By the time guests arrived at the final party, he was unwrapping presents before they got in the door and took off their coats. Happy birthday, Jack!

The Spider ALMOST Escapes!

I keep trying to get Jack to sing a full song, but his ego usually takes over and he wants to see himself on film before we finish. Here, again, Jack starts to serenade me with his rendition of "Itsy Bitsy Spider" but alas, the "pidoh" doesn't survive as Jack doesn't make it to the end of the song where it escapes to climb the "pout" again. Poor pidoh.

Beep, Beep!

Given his choice of vehicles, Jack, naturally, chooses the pink flower power convertible. Obviously, he's not ready for his license yet, but we'll work with him.

Just Practicing, Daddy

Sure it's Bryan's birthday, but Daddy didn't want cake so Jack had to show him how it was done. This is actually cheesecake #2 but Jack just wanted to make sure the other flavors were OK, too. Next up, Jack turns 2!

Bring the Helicopter Around Front, Please

Oh goodness, where do I begin? Jack (not yet 2) got his first helicopter ride with Papa Tom and Bryan a few days ago and hasn't stopped talking about it. Between hockey and flying, we're convinced he's going to be an adrenaline junkie. Bryan said Jack used his microphone and headsets to talk to the pilot and noticed all sorts of things in the Des Moines skyline.
