...And He's Mobile!

Pardon the background noise on this one. The hockey screaming and Grammy opening act worked hard to outshine Griffin's first steps, but he knows he's top dog now. When we all cheered for him, Jack yelled, "SCORE!!!" and tried to divert our attention back to his hockey game. Ah, jealous much? Or perhaps he's just well aware of how Griffin will now be able to steal his hockey guys. Watch out, world, here comes trouble.

Where's Griffie?

Poor Griffin got left behind in Des Moines while the rest of us were in Colorado. For an update on how Griff spent his 10 days of vacation with his cousin Cole, visit Aunt Jenny's blog at: http://www.ferrellsfollies.blogspot.com/

Parting Thoughts from Colorado

Because of my love for crepes, Jack now comes in out of the cold and requests "a crepe and a hot drink." What a snob. I created a monster.

Yes, I did go on this trip, but I took most of the pictures. Jack was gracious one night at dinner to offer to take my picture by the roaring fire. I guess all I can say is boys will be boys. See earlier post mentioning Jack's fondness for cute blondes.

I'm pretty sure I hated every educational stop we took on family trips growing up, but here we are at a Pony Express station in Guthenborg, Neb. We were sad that the Kool-Aid museum was closed when we drove by. Next road trip...

Jack shows off his snowboarding skills with "Ripperoo" at Keystone after fondue dinner on the mountain.

Ski School

Jack tested out three different ski schools, but enjoyed his time at the Breckenridge "shred castle" the most. Here he is showing off his mad pizza skills. (Or, in layman's terms, practicing his snowplow.) We learned quickly that it helped tremendously if his ski instructor was a cute blonde.

Here he is getting ready to hop back on the magic carpet.

Here Jack's riding up the magic carpet to the top of the "mountain." This little moving sidewalk was a big draw for Jack.

Here, Jack shows off his moves after a full day of ski school in Breckenridge.

The IdidaWHO?

We took a day off from skiing to try out dogsledding. It was a fun experience and the scenery was beautiful. Incidentally, it was near (or on??) a friend's rock quarry. Small world.

About half way through our dogsled trip it really started snowing. I think it makes it look way more extreme than it actually was. Below, I swear I didn't blot Bryan's face out on purpose, but doesn't it remind you of the movie "Back to the Future? Here, Bryan and Jack are racing through the wilderness to save Marty McFly before the whole family fades away...

Here, Jack wipes a tear away after Moscow, one of the dogs, tried to eat the dead animal on his head. We thought his new Christmas hat would be perfect for the dogsled ride, but didn't think about the fact that it might look like lunch to a hungry huskie pup. Jack forgot all about the hat attack when he got to yell "hike up, hike up" and "stop peeing, keep moving" to get the dogs to run faster.

Jack was beyond thrilled to find Snoopy was celebrating Christmas in Breckenridge. Here, he hangs out in his snow house.

Ski Trip 2010

We kicked off 2010 with an all-Boesen trip to Breckenridge, Colo. We had nice (freezing cold) weather, decent snow and lots of laughs. This is actually at the top of Vail where we had a yummy lunch after a full day of skiing.

Bryan and me at the top of Vail (I think) or it might be Breckenridge.

No clue where this was taken, but it doesn't really matter since it appears that we never change clothes.

We took Jack to dinner at the top of Keystone's North Peak for fondue. It took two gondola rides in the dark (with blankets!) before we got to stuff our faces with yummy fondue and listen to "Those Bavarian Guys" play the Chicken Dance.

Jack and Bryan show off their flaming marshmallows for dessert. You can't see this, but that pot of gooey chocolate was on fire and we got to roast our mallows before dipping them. It didn't suck.
